1 day summer workshops for kids and families

by | Jul 22, 2017

Stuck for something to do with the kids this summer? Looking for something to appeal to the tech enthused youth in your life, or maybe you’re curious yourself to find out what it is your kids are learning about these days.

Little Sandbox has got you covered.

But we’re not just running activities for kids – we’re inviting parents to get involved too.

On Wednesday 2nd August we’re running a Family Scratch Day, introducing the concepts of coding blocks and showing you how you can make a simple retro style video game.

On Wednesday 9th August we’re opening up our Maker space to give you a taste of 3D printing, Laser Cutting and T-shirt printing.

On Wednesday 16th August we’ve got a Micro:bit Worskshop for kids aged 8+ and on Monday 21st we have a Micro:bits workshop for parents and kids. Both sessions will introduce the BBC Micro:bit, coding blocks to programme the small circuit board and a chance to use the Micro:bit to control some gadgets and robots.

“So many parents tell us they wish they knew more about all this tech that their kids are using, so we thought the summer holidays was an ideal time to get them involved.”
